How to reach Nant Gwrtheyrn

By car

If you are coming on a course or staying at Nant Gwrtheyrn you are welcome to bring your car down into the village, leaving it in the small car park. If you are visiting Nant Gwrtheyrn for the day or just a few hours, we kindly ask (because of lack of parking space and road safety) those visitors who can, to walk down to the village from the car park on the left at the top of hill. It will take a 20 – 30 minute walk to get down and a 40 – 50 minute walk to get back up. Anyone unable to walk that distance, for physical reasons, are welcome to bring their car down to the village.

From Caernarfon: Follow the A499 towards Pwllheli, looking out for the brown Nant Gwrtheyrn directional signs as you approach Llanaelhaearn. Turn off the A499 at Llanaelhaearn towards Nefyn (B4417). Having reached the village of Llithfaen, turn right at the crossroads opposite the shop and Post Office. Follow this road for about 2 miles (3.3km) past houses on the right and a car park on the left before the road becomes narrow and descends into the valley. Please take care on this road – there aren’t many passing bays. There is a small car park on your right just before entering the village.

From Porthmadog: Follow the A497 towards Cricieth. Drive through Cricieth and past the village of Llanystumdwy. Turn right off the A497 past Llanystumdwy towards Chwilog (B4354).
