Nant Gwrtheyrn > Suzi Gray

I have been working in Wales for about 10yrs and the desire to learn Welsh has been a constant aspiration over the years. Due to a change in circumstances in 2017 I was finally in the position to do something about it. My research quickly identified that Nant Gwrtheyrn was the place to be. I nervously attending my first short residential February 2017 and I was completely hooked. Prior to starting the course, I only knew one or two Welsh words but that didn’t deter my tutor – her passion, belief and enthusiasm was a key motivator and I was delighted to return for a second, more intensive 5 day residential in July 2017.

Whilst I am still only at the very early stages of this learning journey, my experiences at Nant Gwrtheyrn have been inspirational – there is no better place to learn! The setting is beautiful and a perfect backdrop in which to become fully immersed, with minimal risk of being distracted by other external pressures. All the staff at Nant Gwrtheyrn are so welcoming and supportive but the stars are definitely the tutors – who not only have the ‘patience of Job’, but has the ability to make learning fun. I am very proud of the fact that I am learning Welsh and feel very privileged to have been able to start my journey at Nant Gwrtheyrn. I’ll be back for my next instalment in early 2019!
