We are proud to be using a new local coffee brand, Ffa Da at Caffi Meinir. Ffa Da is a freshly roasted speciality coffee, produced on the north Wales coastline, fully accredited by the SCA (Speciality Coffee Association).

Ffa Da, which means ‘good beans’ in Welsh is based in Llandanwg, Harlech a stone’s throw from the sea.

As well as the excellent quality of the coffee and ethical ethos of the company, what appealed the most to us at Nant Gwrtheyrn is how passionate they are about the environment and producing an eco-friendly product. Every aspect of their business complies with the three R’s – reuse, reduce and recycle. All the packaging used by the Nant will be collected back by Ffa Da and reused.

Sioned Williams from Ffa Da said: “We are really pleased to be adding Nant Gwrtheyrn to our list of wholesalers. Our mission was to find quality in a cup, and that quality is now being recognised by many businesses across north Wales who sell and use our products.

“Along with our eco ethos we care about ethical sourcing. The coffee is sourced ethically and bought through suppliers who have a great commitment to sustainability which includes personal visits to the farms where the coffee is grown. This ensures a fair price is paid which encourages great coffee beans in return, as farmers are rewarded with excellent prices for coffee that is of exceptional quality.

“Once you have tasted a cup of our freshly roasted coffee there is no going back!”

Denise Picot, Catering Manager at Nant Gwrtheyrn added: “It’s really important for us to be using specialist coffee, and it’s an added bonus that Ffa Da are also a small local new business, who we are proud to be supporting.

“We are an environmentally conscious business, and the whole eco and ethical ethos of Ffa Da really appealed to us, as well as the exceptional quality of their coffee.

“We look forward to working with Ffa Da on future exciting opportunities.”

Caffi Meinir is open every day 10am – 4pm. Visit us this spring to try the amazing coffee for yourself!
