Ymddiriedolaeth Nant Gwrtheyrn celebrates 40 years. In 1978, following fundraising on a massive scale throughout Wales, Ymddiriedolaeth Nant Gwrtheyrn purchased the Nant from Kneeshaw and Lupton for the sum of £25,000.
As part of the celebrations Nant Gwrtheyrn have collaborated with the team at Melin Tregwynt to create and exclusive blanket based on a 1960’s original Welsh tapestry design ‘Vintage Star’.
So many of us have personal memories of this magical place. A location that has inspired many people over the years. The Festival is an excellent opportunity to share memories and re-visit the Nant.
The strong foundations that were set in the 60’s for the future of the Welsh language inspired a nation and ignited the dream of re-building the Nant.
As with the tradition of Welsh weaving the Nant and the Welsh language has survived but there is much more to be done in the next 40 years.
Melin Tregwynt have created a blanket from pure New Wool, using a mixture of subtle colours of the sky, sea and land found in Nant. The colours show the richness of Wales and its language.
This blanket is a beautiful addition to your home.
It can be used to enhance your home or you can enjoy being comforted by this beautiful blanket.
The blanket will be used in the Nants residential accommodation and will be available for sale in the Nant shop. It will surely comfort many learners and travellers in the future from across the world.
