Several groups have visited Nant during June. The Llaniestyn branch of Merched y Wawr were the first of these to visit and receive a talk about the history of Nant, a tour of the village and a meal at Caffi Meinir. We also welcomed members of the WI branches of Deudreath and Llan Ffestiniog to Nant. The two branches enjoyed a trip around the Lleyn Peninsula before visiting Nant to receive a talk about the history of Nant, a tour of the village and a meal at Caffi Meinir. We hope you have all enjoyed your visit to Nant.

It was a pleasure to welcome schoolchildren from Mountkelly school from Devon here to Nant during June. The schoolchildren were visiting north Wales and took part in many activities, including a visit to Nant. The pupils enjoy a walk around the village to learn about the unique history of Nant. Then, there was a simple lesson in Welsh before enjoying a Welsh afternoon tea at Caffi Meinir.

With the summer holidays approaching, Hiral School visited Nant as part of their end of term trip during June. The pupils enjoyed the story of Rhys and Meinir and got a chance to see how the quarrymen’s family lived.

A lot of learners have been attending courses during June and all of them enjoy the different activities on Wednesday afternoons. Some will go on a trip to Pwllheli or on a visit to the museum at Nefyn. Learners of a higher level have the opportunity to chat with local people from the area. The chatting sessions are proving very popular with the learners – we would like to thank all of those who come down to Nant to participate in these sessions!
