Our Learners – Judith Hunt

Nant Gwrtheyrn > News > Our Learners – Judith Hunt

This is Judith Hunt with her penguin. Judith attended the Higher 1 level course at the Nant last week. Judith and her penguin have travelled the world. This is what Judith had to say about the course
“Judith and the penguin agree that it has been the best experience ever and they have learnt so much about the best language in the world. Thank you to Eleri and everybody at Nant”

The original derivation of the word penguin is unclear but one version refers to Richard Hore’s voyage to Cape Breton in Newfoundland in 1536 where the Welsh crew called the flightless fowl running around a “pen gwyn” meaning “white head”.
