On Monday, October 4th 2010, The Queen of Lesotho, Masenate Seeiso, visited Nant Gwrtheyrn. The aim of Her Majesty’s visit was to celebrate 25 years since establishing Dolen Cymru. This charity has made important links between Wales and Lesotho in education, healthcare, civil service and government by fostering new skills and making a real difference to people’s lives. The founder of this charity and the Honorary Consul of Lesotho and Wales is Dr Carl Clowes. He said:
“We are extremely please that Queen Masenate Seeiso has come over on a tour of Wales”.
Her Majesty travelled to the annual meeting of Dolen Cymru in the Nant, where she met with members of staff and Trustees and heard a performance by local children from Llanaelhaearn School.
Dr Carl added:
“This tour is an important part of the 25th anniversary celebrations and we hope that it will raise the profile of our work which is to create links between the people of Wales and the people of Lesotho”.
